Outdoor National Pala 2010

 AMA National

I talked to the Legends and Hero’s  rep Tami Rice and got the OK to bring my Sachs and a friend’s (Scott Smith) 1976 Bultaco Pursang.   We made it to Elsinore and got some sleep.  It would be a long day.  We had to meet at the gate at 5;30 AM.

We were right on time and were escorted in to the exhibitors area.  We helped with the setup and were done in short order.  We were ready for the masses.

Tommy Croft was there and Tami had brought the plaque he was supposed to receive at the Vintage AM race so we presented it to him at the Legend’s display.

Where we were set up had a good view of the track but I think it was off the beaten path for the spectators.  Even so there was a lot of interest in the old iron.

Tami interviewed Scott as a passer by saying no-one will recognize him.  As I talked to her husband Rolf I had to chuckle while I explained Scott had several National and World titles in the Downhill Mountain bike world.  Greg Herbold  (Kamakazee recipient) came by as did several other stars of the Mountain bike and MX world.

As busy as we were at the booth I still managed to catch some of the action on the track.  The gals were really impressive several of them doing all the big air jumps.

Being the final round the lights still had to be decided.            It will be fun to watch the class winners at the MXDN in Lakewood CO in a couple of weeks .   Go  USA  !!!!
